Strategic Direction Release
Summary
Southeastern Bank Financial
Corp. (SBFC) wanted to publicize its strategic growth plans, which
included opening the company's first branch outside its Augusta,
Ga., market, announcing its intention to charter a thrift in Aiken,
S.C., and changing the name of the holding company to reflect
its broader focus beyond the borders of Georgia.
SBFC wanted broad exposure
in its Augusta market, as well as notice in the new markets it
planned to enter, and national coverage, if possible.
MarshComm staged a press
conference within one week of our first meeting with SBFC executives,
including:
- Writing press conference script used by the four executives
speaking
- Inviting local print and TV media
- Acquiring signage and supervising room set-up
- Managing the press conference on-site
The result: Desired local
and national coverage of the initiative, including local print
and TV, national print ( American Banker ).
